Larry,
Great show, I get up at 7:30 every Sunday morning to catch it here in California during the winter. My wife and I have traveled to Alaska every summer since 2001. We have son living in Chugiak, just north of Anchorage. Our main reason for coming to Alaska is our love of the Great State and the fishing. We mostly fish Red and Silver salmon around the Kenai area.
As I'm sure you know the King and Silver salmon are getting much harder to find. Most of the rivers were closed to King Salmon fishing last year. Two years ago we went to Whittier for Silvers and there were very few. Last year we went to Valdez and it was the same. Both areas, as well Seward, are stocked with hatchery fish and are all three are getting very poor returns in the fall.
Most people think the deep sea fishermen are now able to track these fish and are catching most of them before they come back into the spaning rivers. I don't know if that's true or not but something is sure affecting the populations.
I think it would be great if you could comment on this problem on your show. I am worried that both king and silver fishing could end in Alaska.
Again, great show, keep it going, and on one of these shows "out fish Audrey".

Love the Show, You all are doing a great job, I've always heard about Alaska, but you guys are taking us right in there and giving us a glimpse of what it is really like. I just watched Sundays show where you hiked up to a remote trout stream, what a beautiful place and a perfect spot to flyfish.
Whats great about your show, is you are showing everything from begining to end, like the moose hunt--9days of waiting and then sucess you got your moose and then explaing how you had to haul it to the boat and then down the river to have it butchered and packaged--love the detail.
Also its great having the smookee joe show us all the receipes and in the field cooking ideas. You can count on me tuning in every Sunday.
My trip this weekend was to Lake Chautaukua, NY ice fishing for perch, which we will be frying tonight and I am going to make it like smooke jo did the salmon, perch sandwich with spicy diced tomato and jalapeno on top.

Hi Larry and Audrey and crew:
I have been watching Larry and his trips for quite sometime..He usualy gives me a good laugh or smile when he is making his comments or falls into the water head over heels....
I just I would write and say hello and keep me laughing and smiling...you peak my interest in fly fishing for pike in you last show from anvic(sp)..great show.
